I've got my beeper shoved up under the dash somewhere, but it's been so long since the install I can't remember where exactly. In addition to the beeper that comes with the unit I installed a 130dB alarm beeper that is activated by the "Valet Function." You put the beeper in valet mode and it goes of constantly any time the engine speed exceeds a preset value (that you select). My alarm beeper is so loud and so irritating that nobody could stand to drive the car above the limit I have set (5k), plus, if anyone exceeds 5k after I've told them not to exceed 4.5k, the alarm will quite literally scare the crap out of them. It's a way to ensure that your mechanic, tire or alignment man, or dealer, doesn't take your car out and run the crap out of it.

There is also a high RPM memory that will tell you how much you over reved if you throw a potential money shift, and by resetting the memory when you drop the car off somewhere, you have a record of how high the engine was reved when the car was out of your hands.

You can also use some of the beeper features for other functions, like gating a nitrous setup (which Modifry himself ran for a while before going FI).

Check out Modifry's Web site and read up on all the features. It's really a very cool mod.

On thing you may not hear about elsewhere is the way the beeper helps when autocrossing. Obviously it allows you to keep your eyes on the course rather than worrying about the tack, but more importantly, the thing beeps at different points on the course, giving you a form of feedback to compare runs. For example, if I get two beeps at the end of a first gear straight on one run, and three on the next, I know I'm getting more speed at the end of that straight. I also count the beeps to help me judge breaking points. It gives you a reference to where you are in comparison to previous runs, in terms of engine speed, something that would normally requre looking at the tack almost constantly.

Hahaha, and the first time the beeper goes off most people slow down quickly, because they forget about it and think it's their radar detector going off.
That is VERY cool. Does alarm thingy comes with it when you order the modifry shift beeper? or it's separate purchase. I'm very interested because I currently don't have a security system and that thing seems to do the job. What I'm afraid is the installation. I'm VERY bad (like, seriously bad) when it comes to installation for cars. That beeper is definitely on top of my list now though.

Fresh oil, tranny fluid, diff fluid, brake fluid, valve adjustment. Your car will thank you and it goes a long way compared to all the other little stuff you could get for $100

That's pretty true, but he's referring to bulbs and I think you are probably thinking of the ballast thread that was up recently. By going with different value bulbs you will have different color headlights, but also slightly-to-heavily reduced visibility because the OEM bulbs are in a sweet spot of the color spectrum to see at night.

Yes, of course they can be defeated. All of these things are a deterrent. I'm not sure why you'd mention one of the RARE cases and post it like it is the norm and that the product is not a valid one. Do you have wheel locks on your car? WHHHHY? "They can be easily defeated." For the unprepared thief these will definitely help to secure the seats better, even if they do get vandalized after.

Yeah I am speaking from experience with the 8000ks. I absolutely love them and they are a head turner at night. It is a dark dark blue, almost purple color but visibility is a white-blue on the road. When I turned mine on compared to the stock 4300ks it made them look like halogens on the road. The intensity of the 4300s did mute the 8000ks a bit, but not by too much.
