Cooling System Additive ?????
Greetings from NJ.
What are your thoughts on cooling system additives?
I know our engines can run a bit hot during the summer months.
Is this additive necessary?
I appreciate your replys!

Don't think about them at all.
Not sure what "a bit hot" means in this context as coolant temperatures run in a range controlled by the thermostat and radiator not a single specific temperature. Sure coolant temperature will be a few degrees higher in 95°F ambient temperatures like we had here in Virginia last month than back in February -- but those temps were all within spec.
If the system is overheating there's something wrong that an additive is unlikely to fix. I'm not seeing a rash of overheating cars in places like deserts in the SW or the Australian outback simply using Honda Type 2 antifreeze.
Like many things "coolant additives" are produced and sold merely because we'll buy them
not because they're needed or offer any real benefits. But they make us feel good and hopefully aren't doing any damage. As anyone who cooks spaghetti knows adding salt to the water increases the boiling temperature of the water but salt ain't recommended inside our engines.

Radiator cap.

I installed a new, high quality NTK / NGK "Made in Japan" Radiator cap on my Kawaskai and guess what... it runs much cooler now. Of course, the Radiator fan also does not start so often as before.
I also installed a new one in the S 2000 after this discovery. I will install new ones every three years in the Future.
Beside this, the "Water wetter Additive" from Redline is regarded well and has a good reputation.
