Default core charge for supercharger?

i'm doing some reserach for the superchargers, and came across the supercharger dealers all ask for a oem crank pulley exchange and a $400 core charge?

why is there an extra $400 charge? and why do they require for us to give them the crank pulley? is it just for comptech or is it a requirment on both comptech and vortech?

speaking of which, does the car need to be tuned with the supercharger? do comptech and vortech give a pre tuned program? or do you still have to custom tune the car with the supercharger?

You're not doing to well with your research. You don't give them $400 and your crank pulley. You give them one or the other, and you get it back.

The SC is driven buy a pulley attached to the front of your crank pulley. It requires 6 holes drilled and tapped to attach it. The way it works is you pay a $400 deposit to Comptech and they supply you a modified pulley. Then, after you've done the install you send them back your stock pulley and get your $400 deposit back.

Of course it will. It just has 6 mounting holes drilled into it.

That said, I bought a second front pulley so that if I sell the kit I can sell it with a modified pulley and put the unmodofied one back on mine.

- just buy the pulley new from the dealer ~$65 and give them that one, so you can keep a pulley..
