Also, some states demand free replacement through insurance, so might want to check that.

haha
The price people SAY they paid went from $265 to $240 ( $200 with the discount), $230, $160 , $150 to the vague "less than $200 cash".

Typical "I got a better deal then the last person" mentality.
That's why a discussion on the "price" of anything is worthless.

its maybe true.. some might got the cheap glass some might had it replaced with oem. and of course the lobar cost will be different for each individual company and you add the two... = the big range of prices.

I did some research on this last year. Here's what I found. First quality of course is OEM made in Japan. But at $450 not including installation, nobody goes for that of course.

Other than that, you basically have three levels of quality. The differences are in the thickness of the front half of the glass sandwich (resistance to rock damage) and lack of distortion in the glass.

First you have cheap chinese crap. This is the less than $200 installed crap. Then you have the best Mexico has to offer as well as the least expensive US stuff. It's about $200-250 installed. Then you have the best the US makes at $250-350 installed.

You can't really judge by brand cause they sources change so often. Buy it from a source that will explain the different quality levels to you and offer you a choice, without you having to ask them about it first. Then you know they care about what they do.

Also, you'll notice your review mirror is mounted slightly higher on the windshield when it's done. That's just where all the molds seem to have placed it.
