Could a blinking LED kill my battery?
I installed one of those fake alarm LED's. I have the factory alarm and really don't feel like shelling out for an alarm right now. It blinks about 1/second. Just wondering if I have to worry at all about that killing my batter, or how long it would take.
On another note, the LED gets plugged into an always on 12+, and an ignition only 12+. Since I already have my V1 plugged into the switched slot on the fuse box, I just piggy-backed the LED wire on top of it. Any harm in that?
Thanks!

LED's draw VERY little voltage, the battery drain is minimal and it will not make any kind of impact that you can notice with battery life. The way you have it setup will not harm anything.
It uses standard battery voltage but it draws very little current. Less than 100mA and only for a tiny percentage of time. You could probably run it for years without starting the car without a problem.
LEDs are extremely low-current devices for the amount of light they give off. A red LED will usually run around 1.7V and take a constant drain of 10 mA. A blinking LED will take significantly less, but to give you a better "feel" of how much juice it takes, think of this...a blinking LED will run continuously off of a single AA battery for up to a year or more. Your car battery would most likely die of old age decades before it ran out of juice.
