Hondanews.com released November sales figures today and reported that 232 S2000s were sold versus 259 last year. As information, S2000 sales were 414 the year before that.

Meanwhile, sales for the new Accord were up 25.2% while the carry-over Civic saw sales rise 24.8%.

However, compared to the trucks, the S2000 did OK. Pilot down 43.7%, Element down 33.2%, and Ridgeline down 35.9%.

At this sales rate, the 1,500 CRs announced (assuming they all come to the U.S.) will make up about a third of total 2008 S2000 sales.

 

Wow, whats up with the Pilot drop?

Sadly that is what happens when you have an 8 year old car and the only changes they make in that time period decrease the performance of the car (just kidding, I love the looks of the AP2 )

 

I think this is due to a lot of newer cars coming out. Like we all no, the S2000 has never really had a darasitc change. Meanwhile, you have manufacturers that are putting out newer cars with added HP, and improved looks.

I'm really hoping this is it for the S2k.

 

Aging car with only minor tweeks done every 2 years or so.... time to give us a new model Honda. For sales sake at least!

 

When sales drop low enough, production will cease.

i agree, the bad news is Acura sold six NSXs the last year of production, so if Honda goes that route again, it will be selling S2000s for a good while yet...

 

The s600 thang will drive the end of the s2000...
