PSS9s have a very "German" ride. Due to the helper springs, the ride FEELS softer than stock, but is very firm in practice (actual cornering). It is by far the best suspension I've ever owned on any of my cars. I've used Tein, H&R, KW, Eibach, Koni, and PSS9s, and they are by far the best.
That's because the Europeans know how to make shocks. Japanese seem to focus on pretty colors and 10000 adjustable settings (which don't even work how you might think).

Check out this link for shock information and what brands are good/bad and the reason why.

quick question for the guys with PSS9s, where did you guys but them from (looking for the cheapest price) and is there any difference in models for ap1s?

I believe the 1 model is good for all MY S2000s. I've heard good things about shox.com... they have it now for $1289.

Well, from what I've read here, the CR setup seems a bit more performance oriented than the PSS9s. It's a plug and play system for people who don't want to mess around with settings, and you get the benefit of Honda R/D.

Well suited for suspension dummies like me

I would get the H&R suspension.

The dampers are made by Bilstien, but the springs are firmer 350lbs all round (plus the helper springs that compress under preload anayway).

Ok, so you can't adjust them, but who cares - they are perfect from the get go

that is your first mistake, listening to dennis grant......

imho, the cr stuff is a great compromise of performance and handling. i have both cars, and 08 CR and a 07 base. radical difference bewteen the two.

also, imho, anything with helper springs just plain sucks when it comes to all out performance. for a street car, sure, but race car, def not. i have set up many many cars, and have numerous race wins, so i have a LOT of experience in this.

How do you like the PSS9 coilovers? Do you notice the extra understeer from the additional front biased spring rates? I would be coming from a MY03 which is a bit more oversteery than your MY08, so I'm wondering if I'll hate the PSS9's driving dynamics heh. If guess if anything, the MY03 would be oversteery and the PSS9 more neutral. I guess it's all relative and depends on where you're coming from.

Have you changed your sway bars from stock? And if not, do the PSS9s reduce body roll compared to when you had on stock coilovers?
SiDriver,

While I don't have the PSS9's, I do have some 12kg front and 10kg rear. The car does not understeer with these (unless I have TC on). What I notice now is that the back sticks and won't come around as easily unless you give it some throttle, which to me is a good thing. So you get to throttle steer rather than wait for the break away and catch it as with the stock AP1 setup, so more control IMO.

If you're going to be tracking the car, you want neutral.

mostly true. depends on skill level, and track setup. remember, springs are not the full equation, they are only part of the puzzle. alignment/bars/cornerweight etc all come into play.
