CR Trunk reinforcement
17 Attachment(s)
There's been quite a few requests for this, so I took some (slightly better) pictures today.
The CR trunk has a different part number from the non-CR trunk, and it is due to reinforcement to supplement the CR wing. Please excuse the picture quality, they were taken with my phone :) Whole Trunk. All the black things lining the trunk are supports for the trunk; every single one has left a mark on either sheet metal or a support that corresponds to the one on the trunk. Attachment 114226 Right side top reinforcement Attachment 114227 Right side top reinforcement support (you can see the marks from the top piece) Attachment 114228 How the top reinforcement and the support line up Attachment 114229 Support at the "bottom" (end) of the trunk Attachment 114230 And the mark it leaves on the bumper Attachment 114231 left side top reinforcement support (Lighting makes the grooves the top part leaves clearer; this piece is flat brand new!) Attachment 114232 And the reinforcement that made the marks Attachment 114233 Trunk reinforcement (you only see a little piece here) Attachment 114234 You can sort of see ribbing in the hole here. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y75...0709Medium.jpg Same hole, better picture. Attachment 114235 Different angle of ribbing underneath the skin. Attachment 114236 Same picture but zoomed out so you can see which hole I took it through. Attachment 114237 Another picture, different hole. The reinforcement is very obvious in this picture. Attachment 114238 And, zoomed out again for perspective Attachment 114239 Another picture. I have no idea why that hole is there. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y75...0715Medium.jpg And, zoomed out. Attachment 114240 And, a few pictures of my bumper. The wing pushes down hard enough where the bumper is now mis-aligned. The support doesn't actually touch the bumper when the car is parked.... Attachment 114241 Attachment 114242 |

I've already acquired a trunk and wing and need those side support pieces for the car that you name "left/right side top reinforcement"
Anyone know where these are available? I couldn't find it on the exploded diagrams from HAP |

Ah damn, ok I just need #14, I was looking in the right place but did not realize that is the part I needed. After reading the description that is exactly what I need. The trunk when I purchased it thankfully already had the two L shaped bumpers so all I needed was the additional bracing on the car itself.
I'm guessing it's just double sided tape on the back of it to hold it in place? |
I have no idea, but there are no bolts holding it on ;)
It is basically a piece of rubber. |
Great pics, makes me wonder about guys just slapping a wing on a non-CR and calling it a day. Honda put some engineering into that set up.

Good photos Mike, I now have a reference when people ask for pics
