The crash...now that I think about it
I haven't seen the vid clip - I did PM someone earlier for a copy, but never got it and now that I see the swarming buzzards (I include myself) and really think about it...I feel a little foolish!
1) I have been in a life-threatening situation, and I know it is a very personal thing that someone has every right to deal with on their own...
2) driver-error or no, if an insurance company DOES get ahold of a video showing a car beyond the control capability of its drivers it can be used to increase or deny our coverages...cars (read Corvette here) have certainly been singled out like this before!
3) To see some people clearly setting aside whatever "right" they might have to see this video for the sake of the "right" one of our fellow s2k-owners has to his privacy is actually quite moving...
4) From what I gather this isn't an issue of whether the video gets shared, it is a matter of patience to wait until the video has been made available according to a timetable that best fits the needs of this car owner...who we SHOULD consider a part of this community "family."
5) If you have seen the video, and are criticizing those who are after the video, stop preaching and get that plank out of your eye!
...Looking at the man in the mirror, I feel like a jerk for having pursued the video, and I apologize to the owner of the car for having contributed to the "mob..."

I agree also. I think that above all we should respect the driver and his request for privacy. In due time I am sure he will be ready to talk about it but we should not get ahead of ourselves. The video could be clear as day but without us actually being in the car we need to hear from the driver for what happened that day. We can make all the assumptions and guesses we want but the fact of the matter is the driver of that car is the only one who knows what truly happened and for us to go around talking about what we *think* happened reflects poor judgement in my opnion. The bottom line for me is accidents will happen, people will find out and talk about it, but we should have the decency to respect the privacy of an individual in a very difficult situation.

I missed the chance to see it also for the short time it was posted.
While I respectfully agree that the person involved has every right to request that the video not be posted, I also believe that any S2000 accident caught on tape should be viewed by other S2000 drivers as a matter of course. We all need to know our cars better and seeing someone "lose it" would be a learning experience for the rest of us that may indeed help us to avoid accidents of our own.
My opinion.
