I think you could downshift a gear or two, pop the clutch in mid turn, and get those rear wheels spinning enough to bring the rear around, even at the speed limit.

I don't know if it's the same in CA, but in MD, if it's her dad's car, it's her dad's insurance that pays.

The rear came out, and i spun 540, hit the guardrail and smashed the hell out of the car.... No one was injured but her dad who let me use the car, is in acapulco golfing.

Oh my gosh. He should have known better.

i had to replace my door skin and repaint that part of my car because of a hit and run. $1600+.

Your bill will be HUGE to replace that much of the car. I hope you are a very rich 17 year old. Or you can run really fast.

Don't know if this story is true or not and if it has all the facts, but here in MN...the primary insurance (which is the owner's insurance) pays for the damage to the car. Once the primary insurance is done fixing the car, they go after the driver's insurance company for payment. Owner's insurance premium SHOULDN'T go up, but it may, depending on the insurance company. I had a similar incident with my Honda Accord back in the days.

lose the rear end going 50 on a posted 45 turn....

i agree that if that's the story that's told to friendly members of this board, then the story told to the father should be a whopper. i would also advise to come very clean on this one, not just for the girlfriend but to start a healthy trend for the rest of his life.

i just got back from cabo. i took all the keys to my s2000 with me so that my 16 year old daughter and her friends would not be tempted. i think i'll have her read this thread to fully understand why i did what i did.

I know the S2000 is capable of doing 50 in a 45 curve....even a geo could do that! What was the weather like?
You're in California right? If the car was this dangerous going 5 over the posted limit....I'm trading her in.

You're 17 and you got a nice sports car. I'm sure you engaged VTEC and your lack of driving experience (what 2 years?) caused the accident.

Anyways....I'm sorry to hear about your misfortunes, do the right thing and tell the truth. There's no easy way out of this one.

You can spin a light, powerful, rwd drive at any speed... All you need is a lead foot or poor clutch control. And on the street where you can find anything from sand to greasy road kill, anything can happen. Even if you're being careful.
