Kind of a similar idea that me and a buddy had once, a 4cyl. motor with 4 dirt bike sized carburators, pretty much a custom made ITB setup.

Lamborghini with 12 Weber side-drafts... 427 Tri-Power... Z/28 Cross-Ram... Tuning headaches.

EFI with 4x TB and 4x turbos...

Yep, tuning nightmare.

How about 4 turbos,a couple of superchargers, set of ITB's, and a NAWWS kit. 13 sec 1/4's yo!

I have yet to actually see an S2000 with ITB, but the pix and audio/video clips are really aweseome. I hope someone brings one to this year's Fall COlors tour meet. Please, please??!!

The idea of this thread though is, I think, a case of more is not better. A turbo per cylinder just wouldn't be worth doing -- enormous losses and inconsistent exhaust airflow (as someone mentioned earlier)...

What would probably work well (and is not a new idea) is sequential turbocharging. You have one or two very small, fast-spooling turbos upstream, and a bigger/slower turbo downstream. Still, you're talking about a lot of added weight, noise, cooling/lube requirments.

I think the ITBs are an extremely cool mod just by themselves. If I had more cash than common sense, I'd go for it.

Just tryin' to think the matter through, Alex. I know you guys in Tejas think that enough oil, gunpowder, and texmex can blast through any technical problem. But here in New England, we take a more cerebral approach!

(watch who you comparin' to James, boy!!! Them's is fightin' words!!! )

If it gives you problems, just blow it up.

That's how we cleared the fields of wood debris a few weekends ago. We hauled off as much lumber as we could sell, but had to burn the rest... So, what did we do? First of all, call the fire department to let them know, so people don't drive by and report the fire. Then, pour maybe 20 gallons of diesel on one of the several brush piles, and light the bastards on fire. At they're highest, they're probably 4-5 stories tall, and the heat is already unbearable from 50ft out. But, you gotta take the dozers and keep feeding it in, pushing it all toward the center. You can usually only last 15min stints until you have to switch out drivers.

THAT is how you do it in "Tejas."

And of course, you can't forget the Tex-Mex snack breaks in between.

I've been around a few bonfires, Alex, though nothing at the scale you're talking about. We definitely get our share of brush around here.

That sounds like one helluva burn you guys had though. Whew! Now, if only you could harness that energy and pipe it into the S2000...
