Upon further inspection, the 10mm cartridge is from a Glock 20, which is an automatic handgun! I think I am gonna search around a little more for other finds.
Glock makes an automatic handgun called the Glock 18. You will not see it on thier US website but it is produced. It is essentially a Glock 17 (9mm) that is slightly modifed for full auto fire. The Glock 20 is not a fully automatic pistol. It uses ammo called 10mm Auto. Which just means it is meant to be used with an automatic pistol. Automatic meaning when you pull the trigger once the round fires and it reloads ready to fire until the trigger is pulled again.

Glock model 18 is a select fire Full-Auto or Semi-Auto 9mm pistol for LE or Class III License owners. I don't find this situation to be weird at all being a firearm enthusiast myself. Hopefully I don't forget to take my H&K USP .45 out of the secret compartment when I go to sell the car though.

I thought guns were issued at the border in TX.

I have never heard of ANY LEO agency using 10mm.

When I go to the gun range I keep my ammo and clips in the trunk w/ my rifles in the passenger seat footwell sticking towards the roof so this doesn't really seem too strange. I know in NY at least you are suppose to keep your ammunition seperate from the firearms when you are transporting them to and from the range.

I did see a video of a cop who modified a glock to fire like an automatic weapon. He shaved the firing pin or something like that to make it fire like a machine gun pistol. Pretty neat stuff.

Anyways, interesting find.

The magazine (not clip -- this ain't the movies ) you found is worth about 10 bucks. Too bad it's not a high capacity magazine and this is not a few years back -- you could have ebay'd it for some decent money.

The local squirrels fear my .22 hollow point airgun ammunition.
