Crazzzzy Low Ball Offer For My S2000
So I got to thinking over the weekend I am not driving my S much (5000mi in 3+ years) so I drive by one of the Honda Dealerships in my area today. My car is a 2004 with 9900mi red in perfect condition. I mean you can't tell it from a brand new car not a single ding, mark, tires are perfect the car is a garage queen never sit out one night. I am 68 years old, the car has never been modified in anyway clean carfax history. They offer me $12,600 trade in on a new Honda Accord and tell me they sure are trying to work with me but S2000's just sit around on their lot and they can't sell them. I find this hard to believe in a big college town of 120k people........... They are $4000 below trade in value on NADA & almost $8000 below trade in on Kelly Blue Book....... Now I guess maybe Kelly might be high but geezs..... I guess they just don't want my car.... Then I asked them ..... well I have a nice 2001 Honda Accord V-6 EX sedan with 69,000 mi on it red in color with all the factory options like sun roof, 6disc cd changer in dash dual power leather seats etc bought new here in 2001 I am the 2nd owner what is it worth and they want to give me $4500 for it....... I go home and look the book up on it they are $3000+ below ave book on this car... Damn how much money do they have to make on a deal.....
Bottom line I am writing them off & out of the mood to trade ... I guess I can thank them for something huh.............

If you have a 2004 with 9900 miles, totally stock, and it is mint as you say it is, do not even begin to consider letting it go for 12,600$. You can probably sell it privately for the KBB price.

How about we went to the dealer to look at a 2006 Si. We had a 2001 Honda Civic Ex coupe, a few dents and cosmetic issues with 160k miles. Car had 17's, exhaust and a wing. They said the best we can give u is $500. Book value was $4500 in that condition. I looked at them and said I can get a quick $3500 on Craigslist. SMH

That sounds like a big pile of horse shit to me. Don't trade that thing in, I you plan on getting another car an don't want it any longer just sell it through Auto Trader or craigslist. Tell that stealership to kiss your behind on the way out!
