Default Creaky door hinge?

Hi,

I brought my car in for the 7500 mile service today and when I got it back, every time I open the driver's door to the middle or all-the-way position, I hear a creak that appears to come from the detent mechanism (black arm between door and body).

I assume this is a result of some technician leaning on the door when it is open (perhaps to help getting in or out), but before I jump to any accusations, I'd like to get a few opinions from you guys.

Anyone else experience this, and if so, was it an easy fix?

Had the same thing. I thought that White Lithium grease would work. It didn't. It appears that the noise comes from the part of the mechanism that is inside of the door. After about a week or so, the noise went away.

That started happening to me about 3 carwashes ago (i have 12000 miles now). Did your dealer wash your car after the service? If so, this'll go away after a few days.

OK, I took some pictures. They're pretty low-quality since my camera is old and it's hard to light & focus properly in there, but you should be able to see that the left door's bracket is pulled away from the body more than the right door bracket.

thanks!

I went back to the dealer yesterday after they said they'd have a look. When i got there, the service advisor told me the S2000 specialist was out, and there were no other S2000s on the lot to compare against. He took a glance at it, but wouldn't comment on it and refused even to *look* at the passenger side for comparison.

How frustrating. Why did he even tell me to come in? What a waste of time.

I just went down to look at my door, and it doesn't look like that. Mine is flush. I don't remember now, but I wonder what holds that piece to the door. I'll take a closer look after work. Hope your dealer gets on the ball with this.
