I have had that exact problem! I fixed it today. My driver's side door holder mechanism made the worst creak/snap when I opened and closed it. No amount of lubrication will fix the problem. Previous owners obviously had taken mine to the dealer to complain, the mechanism and the entire hinge was covered in white lithium grease! The goggles, they do nothing!

To fix it: swap them! That's it, so far it hasn't come back. Details so you know how long it takes:

1. Remove bolt holding the mechanism to the body.
2. Remove door card.
3. Remove speaker, the mechanism removes from inside.
4. Remove 2 bolts holding the mechanism to the body.
5. Repeat for the other side.
6. Reinstall passenger side on driver side.
7. Before you reinstall door cards: check the door for rattles. Hold the 2 plastic spacers for the interior door handles with one hand slam the door with the other hand.

Sources of rattles: the lock or latch arm.

The window retainer that has fuzzy stuff on it.

The key to adjusting the fuzzy window retainer: there is just enough room to brace the retainer with a flat screwdriver as you tighten the bolt. This keeps it from spinning. Be very careful.

Another closeup of the mechanism. Note it is now upside down.

Hurray! Rattle and creak free doors! You have no idea how much "feel of quality" this adds for me.

White lithium grease does work. You need to use an aerosol with a straw to get the grease deep into the door checker mechanism. See my post in the under-the-hood sub forum.

my driver side door has made the same noise for years. I doubt the issue was caused by the Honda technicians, but I don't know why it would have started all of a sudden either. I may use VTEC4-2's suggestion as the noise source seems to be inside the door cavity.

More likely the car was washed by the dealer. The noise is created the same way shoes create noise while walking on a waxed floor with rubber shoes when it rains.

Mine was doing the same thing. The little plastic bushing broke on the driver side. I just bought a new one for $50 and installed it (you have to pull the door panel). Problem solved.

The device you may need to replace is called a 'Door Checker' by Honda. There is a left and right side. Year specific.

EG: for 2007, driver's side. Part #72380-S2A-003:

Well, the dealer washed the guys car 15 years ago, so hopefully the noise has had enough time to go away now...
