Cruise control + rain = trouble!
fck cc, aside from the fact that it doesnt apply power smoothly (perhaps it also says something our engine response at freeway speed), mine doesnt even "lock-on" 50% of the time
the last few times ive tried using it, tthe cruise control can get "unsettled" very very easily and just goes back to coasting... never pinpointed the reason why, but i skip it altogether

It does not matter how slow or fast you are going. It doesn't even matter if it is raining. If the road is wet cruise is a bad idea. If you hit a deep enough puddle under the right conditions you will hydroplane. The car slows down because the front tires are fighting through water. Meanwhile the rear tires are spinning faster than the car is moving because their speed is being maintained by the cruise. as the rear tires come off plane the rears are going way faster than the fronts...pretty much a recipe for a spin or other loss of control as the rear tries to get ahead of the front. Any steering angle at all only makes things worse.
You may be fine running cruise on an interstate with drainage that is keeping up with rain. But one puddle COULD send you flying. I personally do not want to lose control of an S2000 on a busy Interstate at 70 or more MPH.

Yeah, I'm sure my cruise is going to kill me. Sure, if you're in pouring rain and have your cruise set at 80mph or something, maybe, but that is more a factor of your speed than anything. If this was such a huge and well known problem, manufacturers wouldn't put cruise control on their vehicles.
Wide tires like the ones on the Honda can easily hydroplane at speeds less than 80mph. lol
Also Einstein, if you happen to glance through your owner's manual it will clearly spell out situations and circumstances under which you are NOT to use your cruise and guess what?
It actually says a lot when a person has to read it to figure out when not to use it.
Jeez, I love it when something so trivial resorts to name calling and belittling. You keep doing your thing and I'll keep doing mine. If you think the Honda has "Wide tires" that "can easily hydroplane at speeds less than 80mph" you haven't owned many performance cars.
I guess growing up in an area that is wet more than its dry I've learned not to fear things such as rain.

I don't fear the rain at all. I do, however, fear those who use cruise control in the rain.
