Cruising RPM/Shift Points...
Since my S2000 is a weekend only toy I usually try to keep my shifts around 5-6k rpms lugging around town. Because I like the car to be able to get moving without having to deal with a downshift I normally keep the RPM's between 3 and 4k while cruising. As well, I usually do not even use 6th gear unless I'm exceeding 70mph.
Again, this is only a summer weekend only car which I tend to drive rather harsh.
Ohh, and welcome to S2Ki!!

When not having a hell of a lot of VTEC fun, I usually cruise in the 2500 RPM range which, with our close ratio box, means shifting around 3000 RPM. Most often, I go higher and skip a gear, going from 2nd to 4th, or 3rd to 5th. Figures it saves some wear & tear.

Also, driving around at 2500rpm is being dangerously close to the "lug point". If you ever had to accelerate briskly and suddenly (without downshifting) you will lug and put a considerable strain on the mechanisms in place that prevent knock.
Thanks for the replies...I actually just found my manual, which was a relief. Sorry for not being specific enough, I was looking for just everyday around town driving, not for quick acceleration. I've done some more driving and I think I'll stick around 2500-3k for cruising speed, and somewhere around 3500 rpm for shift points. I was concerned about the lag pull and how hard it is on the transmission, so I just wanted to make sure I was running at the best rpm without bogging the engine.
