The tab doesn't hold normal size fast food drinks well. When I put the drink in, I have to manually force the tab to come up and secure the cup. Also gets in the way of shifting.

That tab really doesn't do much for me, so I installed the ashtray option and the space that is left is good for a decent size water bottle or cup. I put coins in the ashtray.

The cupholder is working out just fine for me
But the '04+ cupholder is different. It's shallower and wouldn't hold a beer very well. In the '04+, you'll have to go with a glass of scotch on the rocks.

Scotch is to be had NEAT. Never put water (frozen or otherwise) into a nice scotch.

Actually, I don't drink anything on the rocks. Just pour it into a shot glass and down it goes! After all, I drink for the effect, not the taste...

And to keep this post from straying too far off topic, uuummmm, I hate the S2000 cupholder, my shot glasses keep sliding around in it.

You use a glass? Just hit off the bottle.

(BTW -- A fifth of my favorite Whisky ((Jack Daniels)) will not fit in the S2000's cup holder either.)
