Curated Content Killer
#13
I try to ignore them too and generally i am successful. I do notice that most, if not all, of the threads are in the "Talk" sub forum (this forum) and lately I just ignore that entire subforum.
It would be helpful if the "curator" would set up a special sub-forum for the curated content threads. That way he could get all the google search benefits that I assume is driving this but stay out of the hair of the regular forum participants and avoid killing the entire forum which at this rate is a distinct possibility.
Is there any chance that might actually happen? Set up a special sub-forum for "Curated Content" threads? Makes a lot of sense to me. Moderator have any influence?

Thanks to the OP for their efforts by the way.

If you're turned away from the site by curated content, you're either way too sensitive or take this site way too seriously.
Most likely both.

Ok, I don't agree, but I see your point. It seems to me that a separate sub-forum for curated content should please everyone, those who are bothered by the curated content, and those who are not. Can you buy into that?

It is still going to show up in the new posts section & you can't ignore an entire sub-forum.
So what benefit does it hold? I don't know, I post a lot & the curated content isn't that big a deal.

If you go imto, say, the S2000 talk sub, you want to see any new or updated threads of interest, but the stupid CC junk is in your way. Worst of all, sometimes you they have interesting or intriguing titles, so you open them, only to realize its more CC junk.
Here's what I don't get. A bunch of other people are bothered by something that doesn't happen to bother you. They start getting excited about a fix that won't negatively affect you, nor anyone else. Why on earth would you possibly want to oppose that? (Or even just question it)
You don't have to understand why something bothers others to not stand in the way of their relief from it.
