Currently Own A Subaru, liking s2000's?
Ok hello s2000 owners. I am currently driving a 2006 Subaru Sti. For some reason, i became very interested in s2000's a couple weeks ago after seeing a very nice one parked by a local mall. This s2000 was very appealing being that it had an exhaust system, along with some bada** volks. These cars look like they would be fun to drive with the top down on a saturday night
In your most unbaised response(which is hard to do, i know), tell me what you think about these two cars. Should i get one, or keep my subie? thanks
***please no flaming

In short?
The 2006 Sti is on the complete opposite end of the spectrum.
The Sti has tons of torque and is a beast off the line. The S2000 has little torque is a terrible car to try to launch hard.
The Sti has a ton of cargo and passenger room, you may miss that with an S2000.
The Sti performs well in wet weather and in snow due to all wheel drive and good balance....drive hard in bad weather with an S2000 and you are going into a ditch.
That aside the S2000 is pure joy for those who want a car that handles like it's on rails and has excellent driver feedback and response. On a curvy road the S2000 will feel like an fighter jet compared to the sloppy feeling an Sti gives you when you plow it around curves near the limits.
There is no better feeling than driving at night when it's warm, top down and hearing the engine and exhaust roar as you blast through some corners.

jlude: thanks man. yeah i always wonder how it feels to roll with a top down on a warm night. i have convertibles, but the s2000 is definately an exception. super sexy cars
Hit the socal thread and show up at a meet they hold. Someone will take you for a spin.
All the fun is past 6K
I think what you'll find is they're built for different purposes. I've never really liked the motors on the subbies though they run forever.

ok i'll toss some input here, i drove my STI for about 5 years(2004 sti) it was pretty much stock the whole time.
here's my observations
i miss the TQ everytime i hit the gas
the STI felt like a tank compared to this, the s2000 is so light and nimble. and i really loved how the sti handled, its just no comparison to this.
cargo room you WILL miss
throttle on/off in the turns are pretty close in the two cars as far as the car rotating when you lift in the corner, little more in the s2000
you have to rev the piss out of the damn thing to get it to move, prepare to go through a lot of gas in the first month just doing that subconsciously.
all i can think of offhand right now, i've had the s2000 for about 3 months now
