How do you know its crap? Where did you read this? What magazine?

I said try it out. What I meant by that is you can sit in my car with bucket seats and will realize your clearance which will be more than you expect...

I know your guys are trying to find pictures and such with a S2000 Cusco cage failure. You wont find one in the US. I tried to find one already. Kinda strange since these cages have been in production for 3 years or more. That must mean something. I will try and help you guys out and look on some Japan sites for Cusco cage failure.

JsAP1, I don't care what the clearance is. I have 6-8" to my Elda bar, and I don't have any silly notion that that is even half enough to save my ass. I am not going to try to convince you that it's a safety liability. I care about my life, so I stay away. You think you know it all, then you take the risk. Just quit telling people who are uninformed that it isn't a huge risk, because you don't know WTF you're talking about, and neither do your precious magazines.

Get a life man. I am speaking from experience. I have had my cage for 2 years and have not had a problem with it under any conditions and much worse driving/weather/bad driver conditions being in Hawaii. That being said I do know what I am talking about. All you guys think that this cage is crap, believe what you want. I dont care. I can tell him/inform him whats good and whats not. So you dont like the cage. SO WHAT!

I hope most people drive responsibly and you guys make it out to be that most people dont and that the minute this guy buys this cage he is going to get into an accident the same day. Grow up man. Get a clue. Reality check. Care about your life all you want. I will keep my cage and you can keep yours. Who the hell cares? I dont.

Did I once say I knew everything? No, I did not. It just so happens that I have experience with this cage and know what I am talking about. I have owned the damn thing for years now.

PM me if you would like more education on L and R hand cages. I will gladly listen to what you have to say. Thanks!

What's the highest impact you've suffered with this cage installed?

I was driving 85 mph on H1 and a tow truck in front of me had a lot of metallic trash and car parts that broke loose when he passed me going 90 mph. I ran into most of it going 85 mph (really more like 70 mph) and my front bumper and the impact ripped out my whole rear end. I spun out and went off the road. My head didnt once hit the bar nor did my wifes head. I didnt have anytime to react because it happen'd in a blink of the eye and it was all over the road. Yes this was over the speed limit in Hawaii and in California. I have toned it down a bit since then. You really never know what you will hit or who will hit you and road, weather conditions all play into it as well.

I have been in over 90 mph without a cage in a Nissan.

Whats the highest impact you have had?

Cusco cages are strictly for bling. They truly are of weak construction.

If you would have read all of my posts, I asked if anyone had ever seen/heard of an S2000 that had a Cusco cage failure. I did a search I did not find any. So to answer your question I did not roll. I still had the other fraction of a second to react since I have been in an actual roll before and it felt all too familiar. We rolled over 5 times in the Nissan Sentra. Side to side down a hillside over in San Marcos, California in 1992.

You probably won't find an account of a Cusco cage failing because any racer that knows his stuff wouldn't have that in their car staking their life on it.
