is this worth it? much cheaper than a exhaust and much louder!!

They definitely will work. The loss of backpressure will make you lose some torque BUT if you keep it closed while in 1st and once your in 2nd gear you can switch the knob (located under the dash) and their. I know this will sound SOOOO loud, but this will mostly be used on the track and when I want to wake the neighbors

I have tried these before...you loose a lot of torque and it ends up not making them worth it...only real reason to get this is to make your car really loud. And as far as switching the exhaust from closed to open between 1st and 2nd...do you really think you are gonna shift...fiddle under the dash and pull a lever...then shift to 2nd. Not enough time to make a clean shift...especially not enough to load the shifter before the shift... Just something to think about!
