daily driver?
38 years old. I got about 50 questions at a tire place when I had them mount Blizzaks in November in SC. I left SC (80 degrees F) and entered Chicago a day later (20 degrees F and over 6" of snow and ice). I only had the car for 2 days before moving to IL. I have 3 winters now and the Blizzaks have about 8-10k miles on them. Still at least 50% tread. My area does not get plowed very well and I do just fine. I can say that the S with Blizzaks is better than ANY 4x4 vehicle with all-season radials including my 08 STi. Yes it still will break loose but it like slow motion drifting. I do hate that my car gets dings from thin air. I managed to park 100 yards away from the next farthest vehicle at Walmart, all by myself at 1:00am. A stray shopping cart conjured from some GM owners wet dream ghost walked all the way across the parking lot to dent the heck out of the front quarter. Then that same GM owner conjured a possum for my ride home from Walmart that managed to lightsaber through the front clip. Luckily Possums are in the same animal insurance class as deer and caribou. S all day.
1200 mile road trip moving most of my belongings, including 2 cats (that were pissed for aforementioned 1200 miles) and 9 inches of snow
- better than not having a clue and owning an Impala/Malibu/Taurus/Chrysler Product(insert worthless poorly rated vehicle bought by the masses)
109000 miles and counting. 29000 are mine.

24 and currently in DD status.
Never intended for this car to become a daily, since my mom lets me drive her old POS caravan to class, but people get the wrong impression of me in that thing. It's a '91 that has been to hell and back and has a pedoish look...haha.
I park my car clear out in the lot where no one would even fathom parking. When I graduate, my S is receiving garage queen status all the way.

I DD'd mine for the first year of the 4 I've had it. Got a great deal on a beater and also noticed that my BP dropped like 20 points due to not having to worry about finding parking or coming out to door dings or vandalism.
Reading most of these responses does make me feel really guilty though...

I DD'd mine up until this June (it's been in the shop ever since) and it was alright. It was awesome when I wanted to drive hard and cruising wasn't that bad. It was pretty loud and made all sorts of funky noises with the top up on the highway. Also, I don't know but it seems that my S gets far worse gas mileage than everyone else's. I got about 220 miles out of a full tank on average, 230 miles if I was lucky/really nice to it.
If you're going to DD it I reccomend upgrading the stereo and speakers. Best money I ever spent.
Top down + good, audible music = win.
