Default Daily driving your s2000

Hey guys, after 2 years of ownership im finally trying to shake off the "lowered and dope wheels" thing that i transfered over from my VW days.

After a problem with ill fitting wheels and being to low i destroyed both front fenders, I decided i'm 100% done with the low thing. This morning i even pulled the fender out more on OEM ap1 wheels.

My questions is i want to start DAILY DRIVING my s2000, i have only logged 3k miles since last May!

What do you guys recommend as a good ride height? Also what method are you using to measure? Also what summer tires are most popular? I have 2 sets of ap1 wheels, one with winter tires and the ones im running now have Toyo Proxes 4's.

Sorry for the novel and im looking forward to your responses.

-Nick.

My car is lowered an inch on Eibachs. There are some entrances I have to avoid and sometimes I scrap the windguards in front of the wheels, but I've never bottomed out. The unfortunate reality is that while the hellaflush look is great for "tite pics," it's not viable for street driving unless you live in Miami on a racetrack or something.

Edit: Here's a before/after pic of my car with the new setup. No more 4x4 ride height.

+1 on eibach springs. i only scrape like 1% of the time driving. it's not too noticeable of a drop unless you're parked to another s. it looks decent on pics. it stil retains good ride comfort. the springs are a bit soft, thus making it a good DD. i took the springs to the track and they did pretty well too.

for tires, i suggest something with low road noise. i heard the hankook evo v12 is not too noisy. i have star specs right now and they grip great but are noisy as heck. i will be switching to the hankook evo's soon since i DD the car.

I daily at this ride height (PSS9's) with no problems at all as long as I angle it going into driveways. I don't even scrape the rubber flaps in front of the front wheels at this height:

Honestly I think hellaflush is hellafail.

Lowered cars with wider wheels look great but you have to be subtle with it...Some people thing more is better.

They make the car almost impossible to drive and completely ruin its handling characteristics.

Function will never go out of style

If you just want to daily drive it you can go 2" below stock and have no trouble in most areas of the country a la espelirs/eibach/others.

If you want performance on a track you may want to consider even a little higher than that so you have more suspension travel available.

I’ve had no problems with stock ride height.
Anything lower will require some compromises for daily driving.

I see that you have a metro badge, if you use your "S" at all to commute to NYC or any of the surrounding boroughs I would urge against lowering your car. This year I've seen what seems to me like record numbers of potholes in NYC. If you are in Long Island, a lowered car should do ok, i don't know how the roads are upstate.

Stock height is low enough for NYC.

Sorry for the confusion but I already have coilovers. I'm just looking for what ride height is most commonly set for daily driving with coilovers. Also the hankook v12 evos don't come in ap1 sizes. I will get them when I upgrade to ap2 wheels though.
