Hey S2K PikeStyle:

Like someone else said, COVER YOUR A$$ FIRST on the fact your parked legally or not. DO IT NOW before they post a sign changing the spot you were in. Then get all info from the towing company, how called them to get your car and WHY! If you are in the right, call the Hospital General Manager today. If you get his gate keeper (Secretary) do not panic. Give that person all of your phone numbers were you can save messages and caller ID numbers. The GM will call you back.

If it is the towing company just "on contract" with the Hospital to do this on their own, the towing company will have insurance too.

Your personal decision if your are in the right to "go for their jugular".

The biggest things that made me mad is the fact that it hurt my studying directly before an exam and that they didnt use a flatbed.

Im sure they scratched the front end up more then it was.. but can i prove that?, i dont know. Anyone who has been in Norfolk can probably assume the driving conditions on the back of a tow truck would probably cause the car to hit the groun. The biggest concerns i had was wtih suspension and tranny. Glad that the owners manual states to only tow on a flatbed. I will at minumum get my insurance company to get an allignment from them and hopefully repaint the front bumper. Luckily, i had not put a front lip on yet.

I have also called the city to have street parking stictly enforced on my street. They said they know that the hospital employees abuse parking on the street.

The receptionist called at 1100 according to the tow truck company and then they arrived at 1130.

There are 2 very visibile signs that say VISITOR PARKING 9-4PM ONLY , Others will be towed.

I asked for a copy of the contract that they had with the hospital and they said there wasnt one (obviously there is, written or oral) I feel that they had no legal authority to tow within these hours and despite the request of any receptionist, they assume a contract wtih all visitors from 9-4 as stated on the very visible signs. The company said they didnt know about the posted signs becuase they bought the company from a previous company. They did however assume the same telephone number and employ the previous owner.

[QUOTE=Poindexter,Dec 17 2004, 10:21 AM] Derek, you have the worst luck of anyone I know with a S2000.

Good luck. I've never heard of anyone getting any money out of a towing company.
My friend actually got money out of a towing company when they damged his '87 Chrysler Conquest (Mitsu Starion for those of you who don't know). He got them to pay for a new steering arm, front bumper cover, and an alignment. All of which were damged by the driver now knowing how to properly winch a car on to a flatbed.
