Default Damint my Windshield!!!!

After work I got to my car to notice that the windshield was cracked on the passanger side from top to bottom a nice crack line the size is about from ur nail to ur wrist 8 inchs? maybe around there in length. Would u guys get a new windshield or just drive it as is? And if i did replace with OEM honda how much would it be?!?!? All help or replies will be greatly appreciated...

Don't know prices in the US but I had mine replaced in Tokyo and it was over US$500. I would say that you are going to have to get it replaced though. It is glued to the frame, which means as the body flexes the crack will get bigger .... I know this since I actually saw the crack in my windshield grow as I was cornering hard one time .... that's when I decided it needed to be fixed !

A friend of mine had the same problem, after a day in the sun his windshield was broken; there was no stone chip or any other damage done to the window beforehand.

His insurrance paid for the OEM replacement.

I've seen resin used on stone chips and it looked like new, but I have never seen it used on a crack, also I believe that it won't hold very long as the windscreen is part of the entire structure and thus the crack will return quickly.

I would be surprised if they could repair a crack that goes right through the glass with a resin like this ..... and as antek says, since the screen is part of the structure I would have thought that the stresses would likely be too much for a repair like this to last that long ....

It's Saturday morning. I was out driving in my S2000 when I hit a minor hole, well not even a hole actually, more like a slow dip in the pavement. I have hit it several times before, and each time I heard a sharp noise, like a crack of some sort. This morning was different in that the windshield cracked. It's a hairline crack that's outside the wiper area on the driver's side, pretty much top to bottom. No other traffic was present, no rocks hit the glass for certain. What's up? Anybody else had this? It's obviously body movement of some kind. My warranty was up three weeks ago! Anybody know of any recalls or if Honda will even talk to me?

Not sure about California, but here in Florida your insurance is required to pay for a replacement 100%. Couldn't hurt to call.

Good luck

Well, insurance usually will cover a broken windshield, but the point is you have to pay the deductible still. I have a low deductible of only $300, but another hundred bucks or so and I have a windshield. Most deductibles are $500-1000+, so there's hardly a point to go with insurance, right?

Anyway, mine's cracked from top to bottom too. Happened during a charity rally with the 6SpeedOnline folks. A white Lambo Gallardo spit up a rock and it hit my windshield. Caught it on video too!!
