damn.... almost got killed...
Austin, I don't think there is a correction available. This is normal for every S I've seen spin out without holding the clutch in. After the stall the engine is reluctant to start. I haven't tried the key removal trick though...
After reading this thread, as well as some previous topics... I keep on worrying about how easy it is to spin out in the S2000. I am not a hard shifter. In my del Sol I rarely ever ran in 1st up to 6,000 rpm (redline was 6,800) before shifting to second. How easy is it to spin out in the S2k? California highways are very unforgiving on spinouts... there are too many cars coming and nice big barriers that are almost impossible to avoid. I don't drive like a maniac but it seems like spinning out in the S2k is very common. I'll be getting my 2003 tomorrow. I really don't want to run it into a wall or anything else, for that matter.
Well, Minako, you just need to pay attention and learn how the car handles, especially on curves and in the rain, so it doesn't get away from you. Just take it easy at first until you get a feel for it. Happy driving!!
Its not just in this car. Any car can aquaplane upon hitting a puddle and the car's reaction from this is unpredictable. It happened to me in a station wagon and I wasn't as lucky as Mrlee cos I hit a rock wall pretty solid. This was the first time that I had ever experienced something like this and thankfully I walked away and survived to learn the lesson.
When it is raining heavy enough that water might settle on the road it is very important to keep an eye out for puddles and slow down.

MsPerky, thanks for the advice.
It just seems that people are posting that they are spinning out from doing their normal everyday driving and it just made me worry a bit.
Austblue, I know what you mean. I used to hydroplane a LOT in my del Sol when it would rain hard. But it was never hard for me to keep the car under control. I was a bit concerned on how hard it would be if the same thing were to happen in a RWD car.
