Default Damn Florida!

I got caught out in a really bad storm yesterday driving the S. South Tampa is notorious for really bad flooding and yesterday was the worst ive seen in a while. Anyways my windshield wipers kind of suck so it was hard to see and I ended up smacking into this really deep section in the road probably a foot or 2 high of water and water shot everywhere. I then had to drive through about 40 feet of water this high to get to safety. My question is should I be concerned that any damage could have been done to my engine? I had to drive through a ton of other not AS bad flooded sections to get home and im just paranoid the car wasn't running that good but it could have been all in my head. Without noticing any obvious problems do you guys think I should be ok?

Have you driven your car since? If it starts and drives ok, it should be good.

Nope its drizzling out now, and looks like its about start pouring again : . It was truly terrifying to try and drive through that in such a little car.

Have you started the engine since? Do you have a cold air intake?

If driving the car in stock form, I doubt you have any issues.

Even a few inches of water that accumulate can seem like a lot when driving through it. If water had entered your car would have stopped and thrown a CEL and you'd have had to call a tow truck.

Start the engine and check the dash for any warning lights. Im thinking you should be good.

oh! and if you do decide to drive in the rain, please be extra careful

Thx for input, I have yet to start it was waiting till I go out a bit later but might decide to take my gfs car if it starts raining again..

Car is in stock form, and im most likely just being paranoid bc I can't afford for anything to happen to the car at this point.

Yeah I was literally driving 15ish with people in suvs riding my ass. Fun times
