Do you know what the average fine is for Ohio? I've spoken with many people who said they've driven without a front plate for years with no problems - I'm leaning towards just risking it for a while. I spoke with a Cleveland Cop friend - he told me that he doesn't know any cops who would ticket you unless they wanted to pull you over for some other reason.... the missing plate isn't enough. I'm inclined to believe him. Yesterday, as I was driving back from the dealer (up 271, approaching Chagrin Blvd) there was a cop in the strip between the express and local lanes clocking the express lanes (where I was) with a laser gun. I was driving pretty conservatively, so I had nothing to fear, but he didn't give me a second look. I'm sure I was in the open enough for him to want to check my speed, but having nothing to aim at didn't seem to bother him. Maybe I'll get away with it after all.....

This was discussed awhile ago, and someone suggested breaking the front bracket and putting it in the trunk with your plate. If you are stopped, you show the cop the damaged bracket and just say some blue-haired lady backed into your car and broke the bracket, and you have a new one on order.

it was the first thing I did to my ride. Ordered the plugs from handa accessories (cheap) and they come in the exact color you want. The plugs were a little flimsy when I tried to put them in, but after some fooling around I got them to go in right. I had a dirt mark from the plate bracket, but rubbing alcohol took that right off. I have the black coastal metals grills in front and it looks beauty. I'll take the ticket any day for the pleasure it brings to my eye. DOWN WITH FRONT PLATES!!!!!!!!!!

Breaking the brackets is GENIUS. Doing it when I get home from work.
