Default Damn my luck

Its a long story so I'll keep it short.

Was on spring break last week and decided to head up to vegas with a couple of my friends. Of course I had to drive...it was perfect weather in Cali and top down driving was mandatory.

So I'm driving down on 15 freeway and luck has it that one of the many blown tires lying on the side of the road decides to stumble its way into my lane (btw, it came into my lane the moment the car in front of me passed the tire). Anyways, with cars along side of me, I couldn't swerve to avoid the tire and had to try and drive over it at 70mph. It hits my front bumper and I pull off the next exit to check the damage.

The bottom part of the front bumper is cracked in half and there is another tear on the side. On top of that, the plastic piece (not sure what it is) on the bottom of the car right under the bumper was completely bent and scraping on the ground. Luckily there was a auto shop near by so I drove in, ripped the plastic piece off and taped my bumper together.

But luck was on my side for a bit after that. I hit a jackpot at vegas on one of the nickel slot machines and won a grand...but soon lost about 500 of it playing BJ (doh!) Anyways, I'm down to about 200 dollars of the winnings right now and am in need of a bumper badly (my front looks like complete a$$).

If anyone has a suzuka blue bumper (aftermarket or OEM they want to sell that would be awesome).

And btw...do I need to get that plastic piece under the car replaced? I'm a little strapped for cash and would like to avoid buying it all together or at least for a while until I save up some money.

Thanks,
Rich

I think the plastic piece helps with aerodynamics as well as keeping road debris from entering the engine compartment/radiator area. Should be fine for a while.

Insurance will cover this under comprehensive and won't increase your rate because it was unavoidable (and not your fault).

I feel your pain my friend. I travel that route about once a week and a couple of weeks ago I had a similar experience except replace the tire tread w/ a big rock. I've been wondering if ins would cover it, but my car is lowered so I'm afraid to ask. I think I might give it a try. See my experience here

I'm almost positive insurance won't cover it...I mean they will but my deductible is $1000 so I'm guessing I won't get anything for it.
