Just for sh#ts & giggles, I removed my front license tag and it's mount, then relocated the tag, attaching it to the middle of the front grill (from hondaaccessories.com / Coastal Metals).

It looks far better down there then protruding from the front bumper, however; who thinks that the size of a std US license tag would block too much airflow to the radiator?

The State of Maryland (along with a handful of others) just don't get it. Front tags are of little benefit, higher cost, and damned ugly!!!!!!!

State of Texas requires front tags... but I do not run one on the maxima or the s2000. I run one on the crx because I don't want to get them any reason to pull me over. It's just a PITA.

Yeah, I used to run w/o a front tag on my RX7. I carried it in the car attached to the broken bracket. I was pulled over twice for not having it on. One cop saw the broken bracket and got a kick out it as my excuse was "It broke off in the car wash".

The other cop was a d#*k and wrote me a ticket.

I don't need to have a glass of wine, or a couple of beers You don't have to be intoxicated to get a DUI) and give them a reason to pull me over.

I drive around without my front tags. HAven't had a problem yet. Knock on wood. The only place they have givem me a problem, is parking in DC during the day. Other than that, smooth sailing for the past 4 years.

I tried that with a Miata and it caused overheating in the Texas summer. Maybe it work better for you.. my S2000 front plate lives in the trunk waiting for the mounting hardware that is backordered..

Saw over a dozen Ferrari's in Monoco yesterday along with a ton of other nice cars and each and every one of them had front plates installed.

I wonder what the fine is for leaving it off? The pink slip?

Good question though. I'm I was forced to put the front plate on that'd be an excellent spot. So then the next question is, how many holes are you allowed to put in a front plate? "Gee officer, I was drivin' home last night and someone took a shot at me with a shotgun..."

Funny thing is over the weekend, I attended the Ferrari 360 Spyder launch at Ferrari of New England and every Ferrari in attendance there did not have front plates or even any conceivable way on how they would be mounted! Especially the F50!

BTW, the F50 sounded great!!!! It's owner did a few exhibition runs up and down the street between 5000 and 8000 rpm and it sounded like a louder S2000 with a HKS exhaust but better! Though I think it would be too loud to live with on a dialy basis or on a long trip without a helmet.

What front plates? No such thing in GA. So that is what those little plug holes are for.
