Ran no front tags on my CRX for 7 years - one day a dipshit Texas State Trooper gave me a ticket because he saw them missing in his rearview mirror. Something like a $50-80 ticket. I never even got cited for it on my several tickets when I actually WAS doing something wrong...

So I went to the DPS office, showed them that I had put the plates on within 10 days, had the ticket dismissed, paid the $10 court fee, and took the front plate off before I drove away. I'll pay $1 a year to leave them off, you bet.

Been cautioned twice in the last month. Still plateless and will be until I get my first ticket I guess.

It gives me a warm feeling to see how much respect is given to our law enforcement officers (and that's officer dipshit to you!). In California, you have the CHP; in Texas, we have the DTST!

Barry,
You did a good job on the trimming. It looks like the horse is bent over praying on the front of the car .

I have written a letter to an Ohio State Representative that I know personnally to ask what would be involved in either introducing a bill (to end the requirement for a front plate) to the state legislature or getting the issue on one of our biannual ballots. I assume that the latter would require an incredible number of signatures and that the former might be possible since the state has considered this in the past as a cost saving measure. I'll make another post to this thread when I have any more information on this. Has anyone out there had any luck in this type of effort?
