In-Dash Pioneer - LCD Screen?
I just purchased a Black/Red 2001 S2k and was looking to install a
Pioneer AVX-P73000 flip screens with DVD/CD etc.... Like one I saw
in a previous post that needs to be cut into the dash!
Now I spoke with my Audio/Video Technician guy and he said he did one
before and the thing ends up angled toward the passenger and not the driver
because of the curve of the dash...well that sucks
So he sugested getting a 7" LCD screen in the place of the stock stereo!
He says he'll make the mold (fiberglass piece) that would replace the stock
radio space and those two air vents. And the screen would fit about 2-3" in.
back away form the Shift Knob so it would affect its visibility.....plus then I would
have a cd-changer plus a DVD player in the trunk!
* another thing: he says he can do this because he would use a Pioneer "brain"
to power the LCD.
I understood his whole explanation and how it would work!
Just wanted to know if anybody ever seen anything like it or similar!
let me know - thanks

If you're planning to watch TV while you're driving even though it's illegal, then you shouldn't put it where the stock radio is. That position is too low to keep an eye on the road while you're watching the screen. Either mount the DVD player in the stock radio position and mount a LCD in the dash by cutting the dash, or get a DVD/LCD and mount it in the dash.
