The day you bought your first (or current S)
After recovering from my last motorcycle accident I immediately started riding again. I have a modified SV650 which is sort of a poor-man's Ducati. In fact, one could argue it is the two-wheeled equivalent of an S. Very sweet handling with "adequate" power.
But always in the back of my mind was the realization I had really gotten too old to fall off motorcycles.
I also had an 86 CRX si in the garage which I had purchased new, but it had over 200k miles on it and I knew it could never replace the bike from an "adrenaline satisfaction" standpoint. (Yes, it is a personal weakness of mine...)
Long story short, after a little research, I made a deal with the boss to acquire an S providing I sold my bike and the CRX. (I sold the CRX, but still have separation anxiety issues with the SV.
)
Now I am not going to argue that an S2000 is a direct substitute for a nice sport bike, but it probably comes closer to anything else on 4 wheels I am willing to pay for. At least, when I come home from a ride in the twisties, I have exactly the same feeling I got riding my bike.
I LOVE this car.

Found mine out in Sacramento. My Dad drove me out there from the Bay on his way back home to Oregon. I made the deal at the credit union and took the keys. First thing was fill it with some premium from a gas station and get the windshield all nice and clean. I then proceeded to drive the 2 hours home in 100 degree heat with the top down and a smile on my face. That night i learned rule number #1: Wear sunscreen when driving top down for extend periods.
my story starts as this, In July of 2012(im only 15 at the time) My uncle comes over to my house in his car ( 2002 Silverstone s2000) and offers to take me for a ride, so we cruise top down along the gulf coast and i instantly love the car, we return home and he goes back to his place, about a month later he buys a 2013 subaru Impreza wrx and says the the s2000 is for sale( my parents wernt spending 12k on my first car) so with my birth day a week later i get a text from my uncle asking if id come over on my birthday( he lives about 45minutes from my house) so Its October 21st the day of my birthday, my mom, dad and I head out to my uncles house and pick up my gf on the way, and we arrive at his house and i see that beautiful s2k in the driveway freshly washed, we go inside and talk and then my uncle ask me to come out side, so i do and then my family follows, he then shakes my hand and hands me the keys to his car saying" its all yours now buddy take care of her and she'll take care of you" and that drive home i had a smile ear to ear and have love every second with this car and love being apart of the s2k community
This is an awesome thread! I always looked over the title, but never thought to open and read. There are some great stories in here. I'll tell my story on how I'm on my 2nd S2000 now.
Let's go back to about, middle of 2009. I was driving a 1998 Civic hatchback.

At this point I never really gave any thought to the S2000, hell, I didn't even know much about it. I remember at this time I was playing Gran Turismo 4 almost everyday. My favorite track was the Nürburgring, and I was driving every car I owned around that track...always racing the Integra Tpye-R's and the Spoon Civics. I would also like to go into photo mode and take pictures of my laps. It was my absolute favorite thing to do.

I remember one day browsing the Honda cars for sale and finally buying a S2000. I always passed the car when looking for new ones to buy, but never gave it any thought. The first thing I did was buy all of the upgrades for it, including wheels. Can you guys guess what I made the car look like?

Looks familiar right? So weeks passed and here I was playing this game almost everyday with the same car. Every single day. I was hooked. I can say 100% that Gran Turismo 4 convinced me to buy a S2000...
So after a couple months I realized I wanted one in real life, I parted out my Civic and I started my search for my first S2000. I was doing all types of research on the car, learning all the history, reading up on all of the specs, etc. It was so exciting learning all of this new information about this amazing car.
I'm not going to go into lots of details about how I came across my first S2000, but after a few months of looking around while selling all of my Civic parts, I finally found one. I remember the drive down to VA from NJ to get it. I was probably the most excited I have ever been in my entire life. I knew that I was about to own a car that was on a whole nother level of anything I have ever experienced. From the moment I finally sat down in the driver seat I knew that there was something special specifically about this car.
After owning the car for a while I would think from time to time about my S2000 in Gran Turismo 4, and how it looked. For those of you who remember my first S2000, you can now see where I got the color scheme I did. Pretty cool isn't it?

Let's move onto June 2012 where I had just started a new job, and was having 2nd thoughts about what I wanted. I ended up selling my S2000 and have regretted it ever since that day. I am now back into my 2nd S2000 as of about, 3 weeks ago.
I am 100% completely happy and I now know that this car has my heart. I will never leave the S2000 chassis ever again. There is just something special to be said about this car. The way it makes me feel, the passion I have for it. It is simply an amazing machine.
I hope us S2000 owners can continue on the legacy of this amazing car, as now it will start becoming even more and more rare. I love sharing my story with people who ask when I am out and about in town. I love showing people how special a car can be, how much of an impact a simple machine can have in our lives. This car is more than just a big piece of metal to me, it's a lifestyle and a way of life. I love the S2000 like I could never love any other car.
S2000 forever!

Needless to say, my S is a garage queen and not a DD. I hate having the top up.
I bought mine back in July of 2012. I had been looking on Craigslist and Autotrader for over three months. Every S2000 I found was either out of my price range, too far away, salvage title or been ruined by Ricky Ricer. I found my S2000 in Santa Monica and it was owned by a BMW technician who had just gotten laid off so he had to sell it. He owned a Luguna Seca Blue E46 M3 as well and obviously chose to keep that instead. It was a 2002 AP1 with 70k on the clock and almost completely stock except for a J's carbon cooling plate for the stock airbox. I bought it for 13k cash. The way we payed him though was hilarious and I'll always remember it. I had all the cash in my savings account but every bank we went to tried charging us a ridiculous fee to pull the money out since we weren't "members." So I had my bank do an instant transfer to my checking account linked to my debit card and then me, my brother and the S2000 owner drove around in his M3 hitting every ATM we could pulling out as much cash as we could and stuffing it into a UPS mailing envelope. We did this over twelve times until eventually we had $13000 in cash lol. So he got his envelope full of money and I got my car which has been my joy to drive everyday since.
Yesterday my father picked up a 05 NFR AP2 with 9,100 miles on the odo. The best part was my mother saw the car 2 times yesterday taking her TSX in for scheduled maintenance. Both times she told the sales guy we have worked with for years "wow is this a nice car, if you ever get another one in you have to call us". The dealership was in on the plan to tease her with the car. She had no idea! Her reaction of joy was quite spectacular to witness as he pulled up in the car.
My father and I have talked for years about getting a S. We ended up with one and each is a spectular example of the car. I got mine in Sept of last year.
Combined milage is just over 17k. I have 07 BB and they have the 05 NFR. What a car!
