When I sold my first s2000 I didn't regret it, I got a good price for the car and it also has a couple of minor problems that I didn't want to deal with. After I sold the s2000 I was able to experience a various amount of other makes and models. After I had my share of "driving experiences" I decided the s2000 was the best affordable sports car. I wouldn't sell my current s2000 to this day, I would try my best to keep it in my garage. Havent even crossed my mind.
On my second for "baby" reasons same as you, once everything settles down with the newborn, you'll be back, a lot do. Guy here in Oz did the same he's just become active again with his second S hahahha but only this time, "here's one for the record", he ended up buying his same S2000 back. Yep you read correct, he bought it back off the same guy he sold it to.
I had a guy fly down from Canada with a pocket full of $100 bills. Paid me what I paid 2 years prior and I damn near backed out. Turns out maybe I should have because white with black interior is a very hard find!
But selling it allowed me the financial ability to experience a awesome cycling "career". Once my legs got tired I decided top down in an S2k is an easier way to enjoy the wind in my hair and bought another one.

My first s2k had zero problems except for bald tires and a cracked plastic window, so I missed it very much when I let it go due to needing money for tuition/rent my last year of school.
I bought my 2nd one a few years later once I was in a stable job and making good money. I love my GPW/tan more than my ss/red+black but I think my AP1 was the better car all around.
If I can manage to keep my head above water I'll probably by my 3rd (LBP or ABP) while still holding on to my GPW. A 3rd will happen, guaranteed

Don't know if my story is applicable but my first S2K (05 GPW w/52k miles) was stolen the day before Christmas last year. I told myself I was out of the S2k market and wasn't going to buy another one. If I was to buy another "fun" car, it was going to be an NSX because that's what I wanted from the beginning.
Fast forward to 30 days ago...I bought an 05 NFR. Decided the NSX was too expensive not only to purchase but to maintain. I didn't want to deal with the headaches of finding parts and paying a premium for them (cuts into the beer budget!).
This time I'm not planning to do many mods to the car and have more fun driving the crap out of it!
