Default Daytime Running Lights

So I pulled the fuse on my DRLS, I am not a fan of them. But I noticed my parking lights won't come on without the fuse in (The little amber circle) is this typical or am I missing something here?

It's part of the same circuitry.

I, too, hate DRLs. Is there an easy fix to get rid of those stupid things?

I guess I don't really like the looks of the DRLs either. However, I keep them on because they are a safety feature.

Here's some nice ironic commentary on DRLs and how they improve safety: My girlfriend has a friend that has a Toyota Matrix with DRLs. She doesn't think she needs to turn her lights on at night because "they're already on".

DRL's are a huge safety feature! The S2000 is a small car and smaller the vehicle the less likely people are to see you. This is why motorcycles are required to run headlights at all times in the United States. When I drive backroads I usually run my S2000 headlights and high beams when I'm pushing it and never have people pull out of driveways in front of me. If I don't have lights on they always pull out in front of me and I've had some close calls as a result.

I took out the fuse on Mina's DRLs as well. I hate the way DRLs look. If I'm worried about visibility or being seen by others, I'll turn on the HIDs.

Only bad thing about pulling the fuse, is that you'll get a DRL indicator light on the gauge cluster.

Although, I love DRLs for everyone ELSE's car, because people don't think it's necessary to turn on their headlights when it's raining.

If it were me I'd check out the factory wiring diagrams and install a switch on the DRL circuit so you can turn them off manually or just leave them on constant, your choice.
