Depends who you are.....IMHO....

Getting a 1500 dollar set of pipes (amuse exaust) for 2hp or 1200 for a header that gives 3hp, is a huge waste of money. I can get a header made by a shop in my area that is better than the mugen or amuse for less money. We had this conversation before......the reason why they are so much money is exclusivity and demand. Borla and Magnaflow have much better exaust R&D than mugen...but noone likes them. The guys who build the big blocks around my area will have no problem making me an exaust or headers for a fraction of the price. Those who live in my area (NYC) will know them. My friends 944T dynoed 27hp and 30Tq more with a custom exaust than with a top manufacturer exaust.

Then it's probably safe to say that spending $1000 on "bullshit" or spending $1000 on a 2-3 HP increase, regardless of which path you take, is a complete waste of money!

But we all do it because we love our cars.

I know the DC Race Header for the RSX and EP hatch was showing some great gains.

I was wondering when one would be released for our cars.

it looks to me like a lot of you are assuming that there are "great gains" to be had by changing the header on the S2000. While I have not researched this at all because I am not in the market for a header, I don't believe it to be the case.

NFRs2000NYC, your comment about the 944T is, well, kinda stupid. That is a completely different car and has 100% no bearing on the power that can be made by changing the exhaust on an S2000. That's like me telling you I had a custom exhaust made for my Dodge 2500 with a Cummins Diesel an I got 50hp and 75lb-ft more than stock. While that is all well and good, who gives a crap?

It seems to me like people are waiting around for someone to make the super exhaust that is gonna unleash our little 2.0 like never before with 30 hp more than stock and 17 more in the torque department. Its just not gonna happen.

while there are ways to pump everylittle bit out of a manifold, the gains won't be much greater and certainly won't justify the price...

I just get sad when an AEM ems, head, intake, exhaust and all this other stuff gets you about 40hp tops and for the same price a S/C blows it out of the water. There is some pride in allmotor, but not much gain.
