Default Dealer Cost of Hard Top

Just as it's useful to know what the invoice is when negotiating on a vehicle, it would be useful to know what the dealer cost is of some accessories.

In particular, does anyone know what the dealer cost is for...

- The hardtop.
- Trunk (lip) spoiler.
- Front lip.

Any help is much appreciated.

I don't know about hardtop, but i can get 04 headlights from my dealer for 800CDN (Which is around 620US), and that's 10% over their cost.

hardtopguy (Jeff at Ganley Honda) has Spa hardtops for $1800. Although that seems to be a special deal, I don't think regular dealer cost would be much over $1800.

I bought one from hardtopguy, by the way, and was completely satified with the top and the service.

I just asked a Honda dealer last week. Hardtop retail is $3119 installed. They where sold through the parts department. The sales guy said discounts "may" apply. This is also the same dealership that would not deal on an extended warranty, so I am not confident I will get the lowest price. I did not buy my new S2KA at this low volume local dealership.

Thanks for the replies thus far...

While I'd prefer to purchase the top AFTER I buy the car, I might be willing to purchase the top at the same time if it helps in negotiating. In other words, adding the top might increase the dealership's profit, while reducing my total cost of purchasing separately. But it all depends on the dealership. Most I've talked to so far want $3000 and up for the top. The other day one dealership told me $4500 installed. I told him flat out I'd buy it from a guy in Ohio and have it shipped for far less. He said that's the way to go. Whatever, poor business choice on the dealership's end.

So thanks for the help...

Any other information out there folks?????

That guy would definately get the "are you smoking crack?" look from me. That is $2000 to install it and still making a profit on the sale.

I had a dealership give me a price of $4200 plus install on a hard top.

I really want to get a hard top, but I'm nervous about having one shipped to me. On the other hand, I don't want to pay an exta $1200+

I intend to see if my dealership will cut me a deal since I do all my regular service and maintanence there and little profit is better than no profit.
