Dealer violated my car
I have # 915 MY2000 Berlina black and like most of you guys I take exceptional care of her. She is covered with Zaino. She does not go out in the rain. When I bought her nearly two years ago her carpet was covered with cheap replacement carpet. I bought new carpet. When the sticker came off the fuse box I cleaned it up and re- glued it. Under the hood is as clean as any new S2000. The trunk is perfect. The only problems in the paint were on it when I bought it. You get the idea?I received the re-call for the faded tail lights. I was scared to death due to the fact that I have driven Hondas since 1974 and have not one time ever gone to the dealer with out them messing some thing up. I begged them to give me the parts and install them myself. They refused. I bet they are sorry now!
I picked up my car and found two new features. One was a large scratch about 3-4 inches long and about 3/8ths wide on my fender. This one shows off my primer quite well.
When you open the trunk there is a loud groan caused by the rubbing of the two springs that keep the lid open if you have a rear spoiler.
The tech said that the springs were backwards and that he had not touched them.
Seems odd that it never had that problem until he replaced my tail lights.
They fixed the spring problem already. She now will be in the paint shop for a week.
If the paint shop is as good as the tech people I think that the battle has just begun. Visions of orange peel are dancing in my head.
Damn you Honda dealers!!!!!!
I've got a better one - I took my baby in for it's first oil change and ended up with over $5,000 in damage. When I went to pick up the car the had the drivers side fender crushed into the hood & door. The service manager tried telling me that a customer must have backed into it just before I got there.
To make a long story short I had to get the owner of the dealership involved to fix it. They ended up basically painting the entire car and no one that I've told about my incident can tell the car has had any body work. I made them replace all damaged parts with new and repaint the entire car. The main expense was the paint and it was in the shop for just over a month.
I was "big time" pissed at the time, but S*#T Happens and life goes on... My baby is like new and I'm happy.
Good luck with yours and make sure you see the paint job in DIRECT SUN LIGHT. The body shop that did my car was great and made me look at in DIRECT SUN and they moved the car several times so I could see it with the sun hitting directly in the areas we were inspecting. A good shop will do the same.

That's just painful to read!
I mean, honestly, how hard is to take care of someone's car when it's in for service or repair?! The lack of respect that cars are given is just incredible.
My dad has a saying...."if you want something done right, do it yourself!"
Sad, but true.
Elliott, I hope that things get fixed & your happy with the outcome!

I do my work myself. I have a nice garage and the only time I have a problem is when I let some one else touch it. No matter how much of a pain it is to do it myself I end up happier in the long run.
One interesting and ironic side bar is that this is the very same dealer that could not fix a problem with my first Civic in 1977. I got so pissed off that I decided it was pointless to pay for people that do not know how to fix my car to work on it.
As a result I have done everything from complete tranny repairs to refurbishing of complete cars.
If it were not for the dealers I would have no idea how to fix any thing.

Lot's of dealers park the sevice cars way too close to each other. I should know since I use to sale them and always had to send cars to the bodyshop after being parked in the service parking lot
