if you are getting any service done on your car, make sure you write down the mileage and make it known to them that you know it and they are permitted to drive the car in and out of the bay and that is it. I had an idiot service rep mistakingly tell me "man your car is freaking fast". As a result i'll be getting my next few oil changes for free. I hope you guys never experience this.

 

I kind of understand the idiots though, I mean, they see an S, if I were in their shoes, with a crap job changin oil all day long and getting dirty, I'd redeem my day with a nice ride in a nice car. I most often get my car back with like an extra mile or two, but I dont' really mind, as long as there are no scratches or anything.

 

Screw the free oil changes. I wouldn't go back. In fact, I would find it difficult to not give him five under the eye.
I tell the service advisor "no test drives" and leave a post-it note on the dash with the mileage written on it whenever I have to leave my car anywhere.

 

I also write the mileage down when I leave the car with a valet. I once had a fifteen mile valet parking joy ride...
