Default Defend your Stook!

With all of these topics about other peoples opinions on the S2k and how" this car is alot better than that car" BS. I would like to hear why You, the owner of the S bought this car and continue to drive it. Ex. Price/practicality?/mid-life crisis/convertable/bang for the buck etc..etc.. Why?

For the price, you get a great looking car, one in which the top comes down
So much stock power, and handaling, and it is just such a head turner!!!I love that.

Cheers!!!

Its a rare car, sporty and fast. There are a few things I would change, but the fact that you don't see very many was a main reason for my purchase. It's amazing how a $32k car can out perform cars costing more.

I dont compare my car to other cars. To me, it is an affordable dream car; to others it is a torqueless POS honda. Who cares, I bought my car because I like it and thats all that matters.

come_undone, I totally agree. The whole "this car is better than that car" is an argument that no one wins. Sometimes its pretty interesting hearing the different points of view though

I got the S2000 because it's fun to drive.

I've driven roadsters all the way back to my 1968 Triumph Spitfire. I bought an '88 RX-7 Convertible about ten years ago that had just come off lease. It was probably the best designed roadster I'd ever seen.

I love that rotary convertible. But it was 14 years old and showing it's age. The problem was that I was spoiled. Nothing available, right on up to a Boxter, combined everything I liked about my RX-7.

I think the MR-2 looks great, but you'd have a tough time carrying a briefcase, no less a set of golf clubs.

Miata's remind me too much of my old Spitfire. Spartan was good when I was 28. Not now.

I'm short (5'6"), and you sit too low in an Audi TT.

The Z3, Boxter, and S2k all had plastic rear windows.

Whoops -- wait a minute.....is that a glass window in that S2K?...and you can fit a set of golf clubs plus a standard carry-on bag in the trunk...there are few enough on the road that people still ask what it is....and it's a Honda, with all the history and reliability that goes along with that.

SOLD!

(But I'll miss my Wankel.)

I always loved spirited driving, my 99 Civic SI was the first car that was somewhat up to the task. That was my first Honda, and I bit hook line and sinker. There was a love affair with the first time I saw the s2k, and when I saw the $32k price, I thought, yup there is my next car. Well, got a better job and before I knew it, I got it. NO regrets, I enjoy beating the boxsters, Z3's Camero SS, and other various porsches on the auto-x tracks. I also enjoy the rariety of the car, the looks, and TBH, I LOVE the fact that most people know shit from shinola about it, looks on people faces as you pull away from their "performace" car, with some POS honda is priceless.

V8-What?
