have an 07. it is timed and also turns off when the car is turned off(obviosuly) but you will have to press it again once you restart.

I have just the thing. An '01 S2000 with an '02 soft top (glass window) and a hardtop (defroster in the glass). I installed an '02 dash switch, modified to be a push-on, then push-off button. (The original '02 switch is a momentary switch, so it needed to be gutted and the innards replaced with a new switch). I also created a new subharness which recognizes the presence of the hardtop and switches (via a relay) the power from the defroster relay to the hardtop grid--basically duplicates the '02 circuitry. Just PM me and I'll email you a PDF with the instructions. I also designed a circuit which can time off after a period of time that you set, but you need some skills with creating circuit boards to do that part. Don't know much about the '06 console button, but it's probably also a momentary switch, so you would need to figure out how to modify that to use my directions.
