Know what your insurance pays for. when my bike was hit I wasn't paid for the used value of the parts I was paid for how much they are new. My yoshi pipe was damaged and they ended up paying me the cost of a new exhaust from suzuki that was $500 more than the yoshi cost me. state farm ftw

You've really enjoyed your cheap monthly insurance on the car
You've really enjoyed how they nicely and politely handled the situtation.

You don't like the fact you're not getting OEM top
You don't like the idea you might get used seats.

Non-OEM tops are just as good if not better
You didn't have new seats in the car when it was broken into.

Take the repairs or the check. I'd personally take the $2500 and

1. By Non-OEM top for $350 and install myself
2. By racing seats and/or lightly used OEM from part out $1200-1400

Take my $800 and put it aside.

Then when you've got your car fixed:
1. Learn to read
2. Review insurance policies
3. Go for a drive
4. Deteremine if switching policies will have a different outcome should the exact same thing happen again with a different provider be certain to ask if they'd replace with OEM brand new parts.
5. If the company is more then 50% more then Gieco - shut up
6. If you cannot find a company to meet your needs and you learn Gieco is not so bad please do the following : write them a public applogy on this forum, mail them a copy and learn something about yourself - you have middle class America problems.

You got no problems son. Enjoy life.
The handful of good points you made in your post were completely eclipsed by you being a prick.

Take the check brotha. Aftermarket tops are usually more durable than the OEM. I know some cars on here got the seats stolen and the car was totaled.

I had the exact same issue with Geico but quite a few years back.
They also refused to pay the 9k for new oem seats and top, which was about half the amount of what the whole car was worth. They thought this was ridiculous.
They didn't give me an option of cutting me a check so they got me an aftermarket soft top and used seats BUT they had them reupholstered with fresh leather. In the end they still spent about $7,000 for the top and seats. (they paid waaay too much for used seats and the upholstery job).

Happy to hear this worked out okay after the initial frustration and, of course, the hassles of someone damaging and stealing your stuff. It can be difficult to get back to normal after something like that happens. I'm glad you can now use the money from insurance to make your car right again -- like it was before the damage -- and put this behind you. That's really what insurance is for: to be able to correct what was damaged and put the bad ordeal that caused the damage behind you. It's nice that it actually worked that way for you in the end.

How old are you? You never cease to amaze me with your level of online douchiness.

OP, $3600?? RUN with it. I would have taken $2500.

Let's see the math here: $3600-500 deductible = $3100 - (aftermarket EZ top or Robbins $450 + Labor $250) = $2400 - Used 06+ seats $800 = $1600.

You come out on top about $1600, probably can get a nice used hardtop with that.

Your geting a great deal. I would just buy an ezon top for $450 and used seats for $600 and install the top myself. You can make pocket the several thousand that's left.

I have to park my car outside, and I wouldn't thought the pricks who stole my seats would come back and do it again. I would rather take the money and add some security to my car.

My Geico adjuster was pretty reasonable and flexible about getting a re-estimate after I went to Honda. He even told me how I can go on Ebay or Craigslist to buy some used seats for like $500 and spend the rest on the hard top and a pager alarm I asked about.
wait you got your seats stolen twice?

hard top, 2 way alarm, CCTV pointed at the car with motion activated flood lights, 12 gauge.
