I was surfing through the web and happened to stop by supraforums.com. I read couple of threads about s2000 and Supra owners showed no respect for our S2K. WTF!!!

Believe me. If it were so hot, sports car enthusiasts would be all over it and it wouldn't have died such a premature death.

Different cars.
Different people.

Most folks who own a Supra TT are ALL about the straight line street kill. And the truth is that there are VERY few cars out there they need to worry about. This is the way they look at the world, and the way they rank cars when determining respect. In that world view we don't rank all that high.

Should you care? Not unless for some reason you bought the S2K with the assumption that you'd be out on the street kicking a** on all other cars out there light to light or if that is you goal. But in that case... I'd say you bought the wrong car.

yeah.. tonight i met up w/ some import owners.. one owned a supra.. when i was showing the engine to my car they all gathered around.. i think i heard him say to one of his friends 'thats a chick car'.. i turned and looked at him.. but realized i was very out numbered.. 15 kids to 1 (me) so i didn't bother.. but from what i've heard most of them are pretty cocky. i'm beginning to think of them as the import version of a mustang owner.

I bought S2K because of it's look. I am also happy to say that I am more than happy with S2K's performance. However, it just makes me mad to see the way they talk about our car.

That's what my Prelude is for. You should see the face of Supra owners when they get beat by a 4 banger 2.2L Vtec

Ummm... don't want to rain on your parade but you might want to be careful which Supras you go after in your 'lude. I'm not disrespecting the Prelude - they can be fast cars, no doubt. But a Supra...

I've seen some SICK Supras out there. This one pretty much represents the baseline for a lot of these cars. Stock with just a K&N it's easy for pretty much anyone to run 13.5 at 110+. A friend with a lightly modded single turbo supra has run 12.9 at 127. The day he clocked this there was a guy in an automatic Supra single turbo (no NOS, running on pump fuel) who ran 11.70 at 129.68. He was claiming 550+ rwhp - and I'd tend to believe it.

Just a heads-up.

The ones that I go after is mostly stock. I know better, at the street that is. But at the track I would be able to keep up with most of Supras. I would be putting down 500+ Hp to the wheels. But that's only at the track.
