did i hurt my s2k?
I bought a 2000 s2k with about 80,000 miles on it. unknowingly and using all stupidity in my nature i've been putting in the cheap unleaded fuel with no regards to the sticker tellin me premium fuel only, i've ran it for about 7 months and added about 2,500 thousand miles on it with basic unleaded.... did i damage or hurt it in anyway?
You may have done something to it. I mean you could be unlucky and messed something up or you could be lucky and it is fine. Hopefully you arent riding in vtec all the time. That could be a determining factor weather or not anything is messed up or not. The reason why premium is what honda says to use is because it detonates at a different time than regular unleaded. I am not sure what exactally you could do yourself to check if there is something wrong, but you should probally fill up with premium from now on. If you have any regular unleaded fuel in there still throw a can of torco or your favorite octant booster in there. Good luck man.

if you're gonna be cheap you bought the wrong car. you should be glad you haven't had any noticeable problems....yet. get the compression checked, fill up with premium from now on, and hope that you're still running fine in a couple thousand miles. remember, octane rating has nothing to do with the quality of the fuel itself, rather its resistance to detonation.

Read the manual. It says that the ECU will just adjust for 87 octane and you might notice a slight loss in power. Premium is recommended. You didn't hurt anything. If it runs fine, just drive it.
Dont worry about it. You'd have to do a lot more than that to hurt it. It's got a modern ECU, coilpacks for ignition timing, and very good manufacturing techniques for the mechanical parts.

Youll be fine, youll find the car runs MUCH better with premium.
