Read the manual. It says that the ECU will just adjust for 87 octane and you might notice a slight loss in power. Premium is recommended. You didn't hurt anything. If it runs fine, just drive it.
Dont worry about it. You'd have to do a lot more than that to hurt it. It's got a modern ECU, coilpacks for ignition timing, and very good manufacturing techniques for the mechanical parts.

The ECU should be adjusting the timing so as mentioned above you are probably not getting all the performance out of the engine as if you were running in premium, but it should be alright.

You are fine. The ECU has been working overtime to save you but you have done no harm to the car.
I think you are fine. Just do a compression test and make sure everything's okay. Good luck
lol what's with you guys saying to get a compression test?
Do you really think that he hurt it bad enough to break/wear down rings or burn valves by just using 87 octane fuel? This isn't a 1969 Camaro. This car was built in the age of computers....
OP....seriously, you're fine. Dont worry about it. Just drive the car...no fuel additives, no compression test. Fill it up with premium from now on...or don't, whatever.
Doesn't the gas cap say "premium only", though? That might have been a clue. Anyway...premium from now on to be safe. Regular to be cheap momentarily.
Hint: Use premium.

I swear the average IQ of the people on this board is going down the tube. And I'm not talking about the OP! Honest mistake, it is a honda and if you didn't know so, then the average person would not think it needed premium fuel.
To those suggesting compression tests and damage to the car, what are you thinking? He could go run a full day at a race track and would have almost no chance of causing harm to the car (due to the fuel at least
).Please, if you are not sure about your answer, then don't state it as fact. Still suggest your opinions/thoughts, but preface them with "I think" or "Maybe".
