Is it just me, or did anyone else notice the new S2000 logo on the radio door of the new S2000? It is exactly like the one Rick made to keep Honda off his back.

The one with the
..S
2000
(Ignor the periods of course)

What are you going to do about this Rick? Did you copyright the logo? If not, you can probably expect another cease and decist(sp?) letter soon.

Okay Rick, I think you need to send a cease and desist letter soon.

Man that red and black interior looks great. I want a Black MY04. Too bad they don't have the red/black trim with the black color.

It does look awful close.

They also seem to like his idea of the two-tone center console cover.

i am not a lawyer, but this would be an interesting legal issue...
honda designed the "s" as in s2000; rick used the "s" alone without challenge for a significant period of time; then honda uses the "s" alone.
i vote for rick!!
i just hope that the two of them can continue to use the logos that they have developed... without legal intervention-

Rick would have no legal basis, since I'm sure that Honda owns the copyright to the S2000 logo, including this variation.

I don't think Honda can copyright "any variation" of the letter S. That would be like saying no one else can use the letter S on their products.

Well if Rick never copyrighted his logo, and Honda beat him to it (no matter how long he used it before they compyrighted it) he would be SOL.

If, however, Rick did copyright his logo, then Honda would likely have to pay Rick (or change their badging.)
