Diff fluid
1-3k for diff change? Probably a little overkill in my book. However, some people do like to drain the factory fluid after break-in (1k or so).
The owner's manual recommends 15k for "severe" driving. Not sure what the recommendation is for "normal" driving.
I changed the fluid every 15k miles. I'm at 35k miles now.
Just my 2 cents. I'm sure more opinions will pop up soon.

Just passed 3600 miles and had the oil, diff and tranny fluid changed. Not sure if it is the diff or tranny, but the car is much smoother, and the ol' "1/2 grind when cold" is actually better...more like a notch now...
Xviper has done a "How to" on the changing of the diff fluid, its pretty easy and its really cheap insurance. For those with unchanged fluid, its recommended that it be changed after the first 3k, then 10k after or annually. This should be practiced more if the car is auto-x etc. I did mine so far a total of three times and I have 23k easy driven miles. 75w90 Mobil1 was used in my case but you can use any GL5 or GL6 rated gear oil.
