You guys really need to lighten up. What's wrong with asking a question? Get those chips off your shoulders. The Civic Si is a damn fine little car, and there's no need to get huffy about all this. Jeez.

That said... To the original poster here: get thee to a dealership and find out!!!

By the way, all kidding aside, I really do like the 2 door Honda Civic Coupe EX 5 speed in Ralleye Red. There's one here in town I've been keeping an eye on. It's only got 127 hp, but, if I had to trade my daily driver '93 Prelude VTEC at some point, that would be a good choice for me. I prefer the engine/drive train in the Accord EX coupe 6 speed V6; but I prefer this Civic's size and styling.

Yes, this one:

What do you think the odds are that they will let him drive the car until they have his SSN, have decided how much they are going to screw him on his Si trade, have scored his credit report, and have his name on a signed buy sheet?

I think everyone got a little baited by someone having a little fun.

I would say that the difference is this:

You are an average driver and find yourself in a corner way over your head, 40 mph over any practical speed limit.

In the Si, you will understeer and go offroad - in the S2000, you mash the throttle, downshift if you are fast enough, and smile at the end of the thrill ride.

RR, is it seriously that tough to get an S2000 test drive these days? When the car was young and in short supply, I could understand it. Now, I find it hard to imagine, but I suppose it depends on the dealership. Oh, and unfortunately, as far as hitting a corner too hot, it seems that many of our S2000 bretheren and sisteren have not ended up smiling. Sad, really, how many have gotten caught out and reacted with lift-throttle or too much throttle.

Barry, I'd agree that the Prelude is perhaps the closest thing to an apples to apples. If they'd ever done a softtop Prelude, well...
