difference btwn s2000 engine and civic type R
i dont know much about the civic type R (engine used in the ariel atom) but it sounds a little bit like ours. is it? how about the gearbox?
i wonder why Ariel didn't just use the f20c and s2k gearbox in the atom. would seem to be easier to get and fun to boot.

i think the larger problem is that one is designed as a rwd car with engine up front...the other is fwd...of course move the engine and transmission to the back wheels and it become a compact way for rwd.
regarding the differences between the engines i am not knowledgable of the differences.

Consider the length of S2k engine... add transmission to it... rest assured that it will not fit in a Civic. S2k engine is uniquely for S2k. I suppose if you throw enough money, you could pop our F20C engines into a Civic, but why?
Civic Type R engine also revs a lot less than ours.

Are we talking about the K20A(2) Type R or the B16B Type R?
I'm thinking the former, but just to make sure.
The F20C is pretty heavy and its configuration makes it more difficult to use. Like its been said, it probably could be done but you could extract the same amount of "fun" in a different platform like the K20.
